We make our paper with recycled fibres. The fibre used in Australian Paper's manufacturing is sourced from sawmill residue, sustainably managed hardwood forests, managed hardwood and softwood plantations, imported pulp and waste fibre.

Environment

As the manufacturer of Reflex, Australian Paper is committed to achieving sustainable economic growth that is of benefit to present and future generations of employees, shareholders and customers, without threatening the resources or biological systems of the world in which we operate.

At Australian Paper, we are proud of our performance as an Australian business, focused on delivering quality products from responsibly managed renewable resources.  We are committed to managing the production of our quality office papers in a way that delivers continuous improvement in our performance.

We are guided by our Sustainability Charter, which details our commitments to the environment, communities and our suppliers.  We developed this framework to reflect the challenges we face as a paper manufacturer and identify areas for improvement.

The opportunities for Australian Paper are:

  • Energy – Control greenhouse gas emissions.
  • Water – Minimise our intake and increase reuse within our operations.
  • Waste and Recycling – Reduce the amount of waste that goes to landfill and maximise the use of recovered fibres, while continuously innovating to produce recycled paper products.
  • Air and Water Emissions – Maintain our operations’ emissions well within EPA and governing authority’s licence limits.
  • Employees – Minimise injuries resulting from machine operation, manual handling and chemical use while promoting an inherent culture of health and safety.
  • Community – Collaborate closely with the communities in which we operate to address the local impacts of our operations.
  • Customers – Continue to inform our customers on the characteristics and credentials of the products we offer and our operating sites.
  • Responsible Fibre Sourcing – Encourage our supply chain to continue using responsible forest management practises and seek Chain of Custody certification for their forest products where possible.
